Since the creation of the world, there have been things that the Lord has forbidden us, yet we human beings have disobeyed. This nevertheless shows that He is love, because despite our faults, He has always forgiven us — for small things as well as for great ones.
But that does not mean that we can do whatever we want. At an appointed time, God sent us His own Son to free us from our sins, for we are sinners.
To prove to us that He loves us, He does not hold His anger against us:
“He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever.”
— Psalm 103:9
This verse shows us that God’s forgiveness is great.
However, there are things that cannot be forgiven: those that go against the Spirit.
“And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.”
— Matthew 12:31-32
So, let us strengthen ourselves and purify ourselves at every awakening, with every breath of our lives.
Let us learn from it and purify our hearts.
