How to Understand God's Answers

A long time ago I made a decision: to place prayer at the center of my Christian life. Prayer is not a burdensome obligation, but an immense privilege. It is the honor of going to the Creator of the universe, the Almighty, the One who can do all things. And in His grace, He allows us to present our needs to Him in the name of Jesus Christ: for our lives, our families, our coworkers, our nation…

But often we ask ourselves this question: “Do my prayers really work?” That is why it is essential to recognize certain obstacles that can hinder our prayer life.

The first obstacle to prayer is not praying.
It seems obvious, but if we do not pray, we will not receive an answer. God works through a living relationship with Him.

The second obstacle is hidden sin.
When we willfully keep certain things in our life in the dark, as if God does not see them, we deceive ourselves. For God knows everything. Confession is not for Him, but for us: it frees us. He wants us to bring our faults into the light in order to deal with them and walk in His grace.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses; rather, one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sinning. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:15-16)

What joy to know that Jesus understands our struggles! Let us come to Him, not because we are perfect, but because He offers us forgiveness and welcomes us with love.

The third obstacle is doubt.
Who has never been overwhelmed by doubt? It happens to me too. I pray, I believe, and suddenly thoughts come telling me: “Will this really work?” Let us remember that not all the thoughts that pass through our minds come from us: many come from the enemy, who uses our head as a garbage dump.

But doubt in our mind does not necessarily mean we doubt in our heart. The danger is listening to the enemy’s lies instead of relying on the faith God has placed in our hearts. When we take a step of faith, God works and progress begins. That is when Satan tries to sow small seeds of doubt: “Who do you think you are? You will never make it… Look how long you’ve been praying without seeing results…”

Do not listen to him. Stand firm in faith, for God is faithful.

Prayer is truly a privilege. It’s an honor to be able to approach God. We are not perfect, we have sinned, but He still welcomes us in His presence. He still lets us come to His sacred altar, and He washes us. Thank you for your sharing.:sparkles:

Your message spoke to me deeply. It made me realize, once again, that prayer is a place of encounter with God, full of grace. It’s true that our inner struggles, our silences and our weaknesses can sometimes push us away… but Jesus understands us and draws us to Himself anyway:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. Even when answers are delayed, we long to draw near to Him with confidence:folded_hands:.
