Hello everyone
,
As the Bible reminds us:
“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Today, I want to talk to you about a subject close to all our hearts: how to better raise our children. Raising a child is not just about feeding them or dressing them. It’s mainly accompanying them, understanding them, and helping them become happy and balanced adults
.
The first thing I learned is listening to our children
. Not just hearing their words, but truly listening to them. When a child feels understood, they open up, share, and it strengthens our bond
.
Next, there is the example we set
. Children watch what we do more than what we say. If we want them to be respectful, patient, or kind, we must start by showing these qualities in our daily lives.
I know that sometimes, we tend to punish when a child makes a mistake. But what I’ve noticed is that encouragement works much better than punishment. Valuing their efforts, even small ones, gives them confidence and motivates them to keep going.
Children also need clear and consistent boundaries. These rules are not there to restrict them, but to give them a safe framework.
And then, spend quality time with them. Playing, talking, laughing together… these simple moments create memories and strengthen the emotional bond.
Finally, love and recognition
are essential. Saying “I love you,” praising an effort, a smile, a hug… all of this nurtures their self-esteem and inner security
.
Raising children is not easy, but if we listen to them, guide them with love and patience, we create an environment where they can grow confidently and happily
.
