Hello people! ![]()
Today I’d like to talk about forgiveness. I know it’s a common topic, but it’s still powerful. Forgiveness means letting go of grudges and past hurts, whether towards yourself or others. The thing is, it’s very important, although not easy; forgiving is a way to free yourself from burdens. Through Christ, we are forgiven, so we ought to forgive as well. ![]()
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Why forgiveness matters: Forgiveness matters because it’s Jesus’ will, and following Him means obeying His commands. Jesus forgave us even when undeserved, teaching us to do the same. Most importantly, He asks it of us not because it’s easy, not even because others deserve it or ask for it, but for our own good. Forgiving lifts burdens and brings freedom in Christ. ![]()
Of course, as I said, it’s not easy, so here are a few tips that helped me and I hope might help you in your journey with Christ as well ![]()
- I gave myself time, I didn’t rush or force it to happen; I told myself that it was a process and that it was normal that I had a hard time with it.
- I constantly asked for strength in my prayers because I couldn’t do it alone, so I needed Jesus.
- I read multiple verses about it, reread them when I had doubts, and let myself slowly believe.
- I wasn’t ashamed of not being able to forgive immediately; I cried out my pain to God. I broke down when I needed to, right at His feet. Because He listens and comforts. Then helps.
That was how I learned to forgive, myself and others. So, this is what I can tell you guys who are struggling: don’t rush, don’t deny your feelings, and most importantly remember, Jesus is with you through the process, and He is the best confidant.
Stay strong, everyone! ![]()
