Hello guys :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Have you ever made a mistake so big that you wished you could turn back time? Well, today, I want to share a story about someone who did just that… and yet found God’s grace in the process.:sparkles:

Let me tell you the story of David (yep, I think most of you all know him)…:potted_plant:

There was once a king :crown:, named David. He was a great king, a mighty warrior, and one of God’s most favorite . But here’s the thing: he was not perfect.

Just like everyone, he had his flaws.

As he was reigning as king, he saw a woman :shower: bathing from his window (Bathsheba). And guess what? He fell into temptation . She was married, but David had her husband killed on the front lines of war :collision:, and took her as his own afterward (crazy, right?)

The great King David? Yeah… he was messed up. He could have stopped anytime (He knew it was wrong), but he went through with his plan anyway.

He faced the consequences of his actions :balance_scale:, of course. God allowed the death of their first child, no matter how much David begged and fasted for the child’s life.

And here is one of the most iconic lines of David in the Bible :open_book::

2 Samuel 12:23
“But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

:backhand_index_pointing_right: He accepted God’s punishment.

:balloon: Little lessons to learn from this story:

This story teaches us a few things about true repentance :folded_hands:

  • True repentance doesn’t just mean apologizing :speaking_head:, it also means taking action against sin :prohibited: and accepting the consequences :balance_scale:.
  • It shows us that even when we’re close to God, like David, we can still fall into sin. So we need to stay alert and flee from temptations.

Yet, Jesus doesn’t forsake us for that . Just like He stayed with David. He punished him, yes, but never abandoned him :raising_hands:.

So keep this in mind, friends : No matter how big you think your sin is, as long as you truly repent, God will never abandon you. :herb:

:shamrock:
