True happiness comes from God: become a fruitful tree

Hello,

Psalm 1:1-3 reveals to us the secret of a fulfilled life: being happy is becoming like a tree planted near the water of life. Imagine a tree with deep roots, solid against storms, always green and fruitful… that’s us, humans, when we draw our life from God.

:droplet:The water that nourishes: God’s Word

But what is this “water” that the verse speaks of? It’s not the water we drink to quench our physical thirst, it is the living water of God. It nourishes us, purifies us, and causes our soul to grow. As Deuteronomy 32:2 says:

“Let my teachings fall like rain, my words distill like dew.”

And even more, according to John 1:1, “God is the Word.” By attaching ourselves to Him, we draw from an inexhaustible source of life and blessing.

:sun: The sun and the light: God illuminates and protects our life

A tree also needs the sun to grow. In our spiritual life, this sun is God Himself. His light illuminates our choices, warms our hearts, and allows our inner “tree” to flourish fully. And as Psalm 84:11 states:

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

God is not only the light that makes our tree grow, but also our protector, our shield, the one who keeps us and blesses us in everything we do. Water alone is not enough; the combination of water (the Word) and the sun (God’s presence) makes all the difference.

:sparkles: The result: a fruitful and blessed life

When our roots plunge into the water of the Word and our branches open to the light of God:

  • Our actions bear abundant fruit.
  • Our decisions are enlightened and just.
  • We remain green and strong even in life’s storms.

:light_bulb: A small challenge for today:

  • Have you drunk the living water of God today?
  • Have you exposed yourself to His light and His protection?

Start nourishing your inner tree: read the Word, pray, let God illuminate and protect your life. Like a sturdy tree, your life will bear fruit, you will be a source of blessing, and your happiness will be lasting.

Today, I drank from the living water of God while reading Exodus 33:14, and it reminded me that His presence gives me rest and strength.:sun:
