Hello everyone
,
Today, this question has been weighing on my mind: “What’s one lesson you’ve learned from a failure or setback?” ![]()
I’d like to share my experience. More often than not, waiting makes us nervous
, and failing makes us fearful. Fearful of what the future holds, the consequences, or even people’s judgment. ![]()
Waiting for an exam result? Stress.
Failing at something? Stress.
Honestly, I’ve been there too. I haven’t blamed Jesus, but I did doubt. ![]()
I had a big project, and it didn’t happen on my timeline. I doubted and got anxious: “What now? Will this work?”
I was waiting… waiting… and waiting.
Then, Jesus answered, just not the way I expected. He didn’t give me what I wanted immediately, but He gave me peace, patience, and trust. He reminded me that His timing is perfect.
He told me to enjoy the wait. ![]()
James 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
With that confirmation, my doubts vanished entirely. He also gave me patience, to wait and to trust Him fully. Sometimes, Jesus answers in ways we don’t expect. Sometimes, there are failures or setbacks. But He is faithful, so we can always trust Him. ![]()
Lessons I learned from that setback:
-
Sometimes, the answer isn’t what we expect : If it were up to me, I would have wanted the thing I asked for immediately
, but He asked me to wait instead. -
Patience and trust are gifts : With patience came pure peace. I stopped worrying about when, I stopped stressing out, and I learned to fully trust Him. Now, I know He’ll always do what’s good.
What about you? What’s one lesson you’ve learned from a failure or setback? ![]()
