El poder de la entrega para superar la ansiedad

Hello fam,:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Today’s topic I’d like to address is simple: anxiety.

Oftentimes, we feel a lot of it. It’s a common struggle in today’s world. The solution is simple, but not easy. What is it, you might ask? Well, it’s surrender :folded_hands:.

Oh yes, we always talk about surrender, we always sing about it. But do we truly do it? A little call-out for us: don’t fall into a line of thought where you think you’ve surrendered, but truly haven’t. It’s better to always reflect on yourself and, most importantly, acknowledge what you are lacking. There’s this one quote that comes to my mind: Part of healing is admitting you are sick.” :adhesive_bandage: If you refuse to see the problem, you will never find the solution.

As humans, we are stubborn . And part of surrendering is exactly letting go of that stubborn need for control.

 What gives anxiety? A lot of things. But most of the time, it’s related to control. We insist too much on having control over our lives. We stress about things because we want them to go a certain way, and that’s the issue :downcast_face_with_sweat:.

Surrendering means going against that very nature. It means fully letting go of your control and giving it to God :sparkles:. Saying (and not just saying, actually executing), “Okay, I’m a mess. I’m stressing out. I can’t do this alone. I’m giving You the reign over this situation.”

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 :sparkling_heart:

Is it easy? No, definitely not. Does it give you peace, though? Yes, it absolutely does :herb:.

The solution to anxiety? Surrender. Your problems, your life, your pain, everything.

When you truly surrender, it gives you peace and takes away your anxiety, because you know and believe that God’s got it, that He can take care of things for you, and that everything will be alright in His hands :latin_cross:.

The thing is: it’s not easy, at all .

:balloon: So here’s a little advice for us who struggle with anxiety and surrender: Acknowledge the problem. Admit your struggles. It’s part of healing :light_blue_heart:. Give yourself time. Admitting you struggle is great, but the next step is to let go, little by little. Read His Word :open_book:. Pray :folded_hands:. Get to know Him more. As you learn how trustworthy He is, it becomes less hard to give everything to Him for Him to handle.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 :sparkles:

All in all, anxiety causes a lot of negative effects: anger, stress, sickness, mood swings :face_with_steam_from_nose:, and more. Anxiety is not simple nervousness, it’s something that can completely mess up many areas of life. It’s deep, and when it takes root in your heart , it’s difficult to get rid of.

But with God, nothing is ever impossible :raising_hands:. So trust Him :yellow_heart:. And surrender.

:balloon: A little personal reflection to have: What is one thing I am holding onto that I can surrender to God right now? (of course, we need to surrender our whole life, but since it’s a process, we can start with one thing)

Aprender a poner todo en las manos de Dios no es fácil, pero es tan liberador. :heart_with_arrow:
